A code says where something was said, not whether it was heard correctly. A mumbled figure still carries a code pointing at a mumble. Nor does the number tell you the recording is whole: a file with gaps keeps them, quietly, and the codes on either side of a gap stay as confident as the rest. Both are reasons to open the audio at the code.
